Leaving San Diego we stopped for one night at San Elijo State beach in North County between Del Mar and Encinitas. The sky opened up for the previous days of rain, the sunset glowed upon the Yeti bumper and friends graced us with goodbyes and beers. Cheers!
P.S. Watch out for (Code Name) “Beef Wellingtons” – basically if you have more questions then the guy asking you for directions, move on!
THE SKINNY CHEESE:
CAMPING:
www.reserveamerica.com
Book early, beach spots fill up. The non-beach spaces are a whopping 55 bucks a night… wow.
LIVING:
Great location year around, walking distance from grocery, bar, food, coffee, and beaches.
HOOK UPS:
Full or partial, for one night go “dry” and get the upgraded beach side space.
GETTING THERE:
1-5 exit north of the campgrounds, turning around in Cardiff in a RV is not recommended, dude.
